Italian transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has provided an update on the contract renewal situation between Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus.
Speaking on Sky Sport Italia, Di Marzio revealed that both the Serbian striker and the club are keen to extend their partnership. However, they have so far failed to reach a financial agreement that satisfies both parties.
“Vlahovic and Juventus want to continue working together, but at this moment they still cannot find an economic deal that makes both the player and the club happy,” Di Marzio said.
The journalist explained that if Vlahovic wishes to stay in Turin, he must accept a salary reduction. The key question remains how much of a pay cut he is willing to take.
“For months, Vlahovic has been aware of the situation, but he has not yet given in. He still considers Juventus as his first choice, but this unresolved renewal will eventually come to a head,” Di Marzio added.
Vlahovic has been a key figure for Juventus since joining the club, but the ongoing wage dispute casts uncertainty over his long-term future with the Bianconeri.
