In Game 3 of the CBA quarterfinals on Tuesday, the Beijing Shougang Men’s Basketball Team secured an 88-73 victory over the Guangdong Southern Tigers at home, winning the series 2-1 and advancing to the semifinals. After the game, head coach Xu Liming praised Zhou Qi’s contributions.
“Zhou Qi’s eye injury in the first stage required rest and recovery. After the Spring Festival, he resumed training, and I’ve seen a significant improvement in his professionalism and physical condition compared to last season. His training has been very serious and hardworking, and his self-discipline and self-requirements are much better than before. That’s why he can maintain such a high level of performance now,” Xu said.
“He plays a leading role on the court, especially in the paint—connecting teammates, grabbing rebounds, and providing defensive deterrence that no one else on the team can match. I hope he can stay healthy in the upcoming games and play a key role in our championship pursuit.”
